This page will link you to a selection from Barry Drogin's "Recipe for a Happy Marriage", completed in 1988.
The selection, approximately 20 seconds of music, comprises the opening page of a 5-page piece for soprano and piano.
The text for "Recipe for A Happy Marriage" was inscribed in a gift card from the composer's great aunt and uncle, Robert and Judith Drogin. A copy of the score was given as a wedding present to Neil and Debbie Harris, and is displayed proudly in their home. The piece has been privately recorded, but never performed publicly. The piano part is of moderate rhythmic complexity, and includes a brief solo wedding march near the end. The soprano part is well-placed and not very difficult.
The entire piece is 7 minutes in duration, and printed on five accordion-style manuscript pages. Copies of the full score can be obtained, at cost, for $5US ($8 for two) (checks payable to Barry Drogin). Send a check and your address to Barry Drogin, 720 Greenwich Street #5T, NY, NY 10014. Postage and handling is included.
